It is not that easy, or so Duke Hannish MacGreagor discovered.
Duchess Olivia MacGreagor was not what she seemed. She was the perfect example of beauty being only skin deep, and she was indeed very, very beautiful. She had a small waist, defined features, dark hair and tempting blue eyes that seemed to bore a hole right through a man. She was irresistible and furthermore, she was well aware of it.
Determined to be counted among the highest class of England's society, she finally obtained her goal when she married a duke and for three glorious years, she was the happiest woman on earth. She attended all the best balls, wore the most flattering and luxurious ball gowns, and adorned herself with expensive jewels. Someday soon, she hoped, she would finally be presented to Queen Victoria.
For that, she had to wait for her Scottish husband to make his fortune in silver and return from America. It could not be helped, not if she wanted to be as wealthy as her title implied. While she waited, she enjoyed a private little game of, "will she or won't she" with men not her husband. She saw no real harm in it, after all, everyone loved Hannish too much to tell him, and even if they did, she was ready with her excuses.
The time of their reunion finally approached, but it was not what the duchess expected. Hannish wanted to live in America and he wanted her to live there with him.
